How Motivated are You?

What comes first , motivation or action, chicken or egg?

Some say you have to be motivated to take action. That is true, without a little bit of motivation most of us won’t make it out of bed in the morning.

It is also a true statement that action creates motivation. Think about it, I bet you’ve been there once or twice in your life, you get going on something ….. Hmmm, should we say an exercise program, you go for your workouts a couple of times and all of a sudden you start to see results, you start to feel just a little bit more energized, you can’t help but noticing that your moods are a little bit better, you feel like you are accomplishing something just by making the decision to go for a walk or to do a weight training session. You feel good about yourself. You feel the endorphins kicking in. And the more active you get, the better you feel, the more motivated you are.

So yes, action creates motivation. Little by little. Baby steps.

If you don’t feel particularly motivated today, take action and go outside, a walk around the block. Or do a quick 10 minute workout. Two sets of lunges, squats, push ups, crunches. You will feel better for it.
